Yeah! Work!

Holy crap, what a day!

I didn't really stay at the register the whole time, my own fault. I did finish what I was doing and then stayed on register until after 1:30. Everyone must have been celebrating it being a nice day. They sure shopped! It's ok, it keeps me able to go to work.

Guess what. No fills for me tonight! Surprise!

I thought I would get to go back to work today, but, alas, not today...tomorrow.

I can't wait to get back to work!

Doctor today!

I'm going to the doctor today so he can change the bandage.

I hope I'll be able to walk on it soon, but I won't rush it. All I would have to do is screw it up now!

Oh! And I'm taking Erin to the eye doctor for her OTHER EYE at 3:30. Can you believe her other eye "exploded" and she can't see out of this one now!

Well, my day outside and it's crappy out!

I don't think I'm going to be able to do my nails today. Too much else going on. Besides, my Minx nail hasn't really started coming off yet! Maybe it IS a cool thing after all. But it doesn't replace hand painted nail art for me!

Surgery day...

I've been so busy between nails and work, I haven't posted anything since Sunday.

I thought I would throw this out there today. Today is the day of my "plantar facioectomyitisnhjmllklk", or however it goes!

The doctor is cutting the tendon that runs along the bottom of my foot and, hopefully, shaving down the jamungo bone spur on my heal. The really cool part, he's taking pictures for himself and a set for me! How cool!!!

I'll let you know how it goes.....glad I don't need my foot to write with!!

Lady bugs!

Today at work, I got to make a lady bug flower pot! how cute?

I had 19 people make them. Everyone from age 2 to adults. We had a blast and I got to play with the glue gun, only burning myself about 10,000 times. Luckily, like my dad, I think I have asbestos hands!

I'm now completely exhausted between yesterday and today. I need another nap!

Got glue on the end of my pointer fingers and it just picked right off. I think I should fill them on Tuesday when I have off. They have to look good for my surgery on Friday. I like to keep everyone that's going to have anything to do with the cutting into my flesh in any way, entertained!

My Minx nail still looks pretty good. It just seems to be peeling, just a little, from the free edge. If I file it a little, it will probably be o.k.. I don't really want to take it off when I fill them, but I really need it. Decisions, decisions!

Jewelry, jewelry, jewelry!

Today at work, I did a, basically, 4 hour jewelry lesson!

I had 5 different pieces of jewelry to "teach" people how to do. Some knew what they were doing, some sort of knew what they were doing and other had no damn clue as to what they were doing!

It was all good tho'. I had, I think, 93 people in that short 4 hours! I'm pooped!

As far as my nails go, my Minx nail that I had put on at the IBS is still holding on wonderfully! They only guarantee it for 4-7 days. Mine doesn't even look like it's been used. Trust me, I don't hold back when it comes to my nails. I know I can fix them, so why be a wimp in life?!

I will have to change everything for my foot surgery on Friday. Hmmmm....what to where?....

Balloon animals!!!

Tonight, my brother and I went to Hagen Elementary School to do balloon animals for their fundraiser. The charity that we were collecting donations for is the Childrens Home.

Oh man, does my shoulder hurt from all of the twisting of the balloons. But, it was a blast! I haven't made those in so long. My specialty was a balloon tail! Holy cow, they loved them. We made so many swords, it wasn't funny!

There was a mom there already doing face painting, one of my other "specialties" that I love to do. That poor mom did so many Spiderman faces, she probably doesn't want to see red paint again!

Tomorrow, jewelery!

But...since I worked today, I have to now take off tomorrow. Saving hours, you know.

No nails tonight?!

This will end up being a, kind of, weird day. Why, you ask? I am used to doing nails every Monday and Wednesday. This week my last Wednesday was in last night and my Wednesday is now next Tuesday! Does that make sense?!

I'm a very confused person to begin with, sometimes...but when I get this schedule down pat, I'll be ok.

I was supposed to have tomorrow off from Michaels, but I was called to come in. That's fine with me! I get to cashier. I love the different things I get to do. It breaks up the day and week. I don't get bored doing the same thing over and over and over...

Keep me busy, my brain does so much better!

A day off..to rest?

I'm still trying to recover from the trip to New York on Sunday. I know, it seems like I'm dragging this out, but, until you have this, you'll never know.

Well, let me tell you about what I got at the IBS. I got to see "Minx" in action. The demonstrator put one on me and one on my sister. Way cool stuff, practical for me and "regular" nail techs, probably not.

"Minx" are worn, mostly from what I've seen, by stars that walk the red carpet and are in music videos. Someday, they'll be wearing my designs!!

I'm sooo tired...

I can't walk today. Between the plantar faciitis and fibromyalga, I feel like, honestly, a cripple.

These are the two most horrible things to have at once.

Must rest and sleep.

Oh! I didn't do any blogging for a couple of days last week because my web host was having a problem. I couldn't remember, damned fibromyalgia, what happened.

AAAHHH!!! The IBS!

OMG! I ran into (on purpose) the three people I was hoping to see.

There was Mike Stevens from Nails International Magazine. He said he's working on 3 new magazines in three different countries. I'm there!!!

Then, Greg Young from Young Nails. Two years in a row, I gave him my business cards and am "still waiting for him to contact me"! ...not holding my breath...

Then, last but not least...Pattie Yankee from Dashing Diva! What a nice woman she is. She recognized me from last year and said she was looking for my card I gave her last year. She needed one more person to help out with fashion week this year!

She asked me for another one of my cards and gave me one of hers! AAHH!! She told me to write her and remind her about "me". Well, ok then...letters on the waaaaaay!

I'm sooooo tired!

International Beauty Show!!

Well, I'm getting my act together for the IBS in NYC tomorrow. I can't wait!

I'm hoping that the "big wigs" I talked to last year are there again and I'll be able to make some more contacts. Gee, hope I don't seem like a dweeb and pushy!

I hope my feet and the rest of my body make it...it'll be worth it!

Tonight, my brother put on a series of plays his friend Todd wrote, "Look at My Shorts" . A series of 8, 10 minute original plays. Very funny stuff! If anyone would like to donate, ask me, I'll tell you.
